3D photogrammetry
What is photogrammetry?
3D photogrammetry is a technology that allows you to get a three-dimensional model of the object under study from its photographs. The accuracy of such a model is comparable to the accuracy of a model obtained with a laser scanner.
Field of application
The technology has a wide range of practical and scientific applications: in construction, architecture, geodesy, cartography and archeology. In addition, this technology is widely used by reconstructors of historical and architectural monuments. It is possible to model hard-to-reach and difficult to measure objects using images taken by a drone. Drone photogrammetry is also used to monitor the progress of construction projects.
Types of photogrammetry:
- aerial photogrammetry using an unmanned aerial vehicle
- ground photogrammetry using various digital camerasThe use of both types of photogrammetry allows us to obtain a set of data for effective modeling of objects of any complexity. To control the accuracy and calibration of the model in space, our specialists use a system of control points and measurements.
Advantages:
- Accuracy: the accuracy of the models is comparable to the accuracy of 3D scanning with laser scanners
- Time saving: compared to traditional approaches to obtaining models of existing objects, photogrammetry allows you to get models in the shortest possible time
The result
The result of our work will be a ready-made 3D model of the object in the following variations:
- Point cloud in las, rcs formats. The model can be used as a basis for designing in various BIM and CAD platforms or directly for measurements (distances, areas, volumes)
- Textured mesh in various formats. Such a model has photorealistic textures applied to a polygonal network that completely repeats the surface of the real object of study. The model can be used by architects to visualize projects and by reconstructors of historical monuments
- GeoTIFF terrain plan. GeoTIFF is an open metadata format that allows you to include geo-referenced information in TIFF files
